Built in 1936, the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre looks like a Greek amphitheater, with low stone seats and incredible acoustics that carry sound to the farthest reaches of the audience. It's best known as being the site for the outdoor performances of the annual summer Colorado Shakespeare Festival, tickets being available by calling (303) 492-0554 in the months preceding the festival. Surrounded by the beautiful red structures of the University of Colorado and overshadowed by the Flatirons, there's no more beautiful place for an outdoor theater.
