About McGukin Hardware and Garden Center

When we started, we were nuts ...
... And bolts, just like every other hardware store. But in the over forty years we've been around, we found that nuts and bolts alone will not make someone completely content. When our customers wanted something new, we got it for them. And we keep getting it for them. Now that we stock nearly three times as many items as "other stores" do (over 200,000 items, in fact), we're asking you to ask more of us. From the beginning, McGuckin Hardware has worked hard to provide the best service and the best selection for its customers. McGuckin Hardware has become famous for having obscure specialty items in stock that are unavailable anywhere else. Over the years, McGuckin Hardware has grown and changed - but still able to provide the best service and to meet the changing needs of our customers. It is always with our customers in mind that we work towards better service and better selection.

It all began in 1955 when our company?s namesake, a rugged, avid fisherman named Bill McGuckin, opened the doors of McGuckin Hardware. Employing four people in four departments, his success was based on his belief in personalized service, selection and first-hand experience.


In 1960, Dave Hight became a partner in McGuckin Hardware with his father-in-law, Bill. Together they sought to create a quality hardware store with a reputation for excellent service and selection.
