Loves It

Posted by molranasaurausrex on 9/6/2009

Even when there is a wait, its not a big deal, you can grab a drink at the bar or even snag a bar-side table and then grub there. Their chili-cheese fries are amazing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chicken fried chicken and dream about it. The service is good too, the waiters are very accommodating and super knowledgeable and friendly. The flaming cheese appetizer is yummy and fun, its like a show, even if it is a neighboring table ordering it because they flame it on fire table-side! GO HERE! GET THE INDIAN PALE ALE AND CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN! oh and since they brew on site the nitro-beer is so easy to drink its kind of a "chug only" beer, def amazing.

The place to eat in boulder

Posted by concreteloader on 11/8/2008

This place has it all. As with most restaurants in this town, it offers something for everyone. In fact, when I have guests in from out of town, this is the place I take them. The food is consistently excellent. In fact, over years and years of having dinner at the Walnut, I have NEVER had a bad meal. The beers are always delicious and there is a great selection of whiskey and other spirits at the full bar. Even when the joint is totally packed, the service is great and the food is worth the wait. The menu is fairly priced and if you are going for happy hour, brunch, lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed. Cheers Walnut Brewery! Thanks for doing what you do!

Great beer and food, bizarre location

Posted by moodeous2 on 11/17/2006

The Walnut Brewery is stuck in an industrial park off of walnut street. Its not a drive by and stop in kinda place, because its unlikley you would know its there. But the food value is stellar and beers are tasty. If you go you must try the Porter Shake. Its is out of this world good!!! The staff is very friendly and on warm nights go sit on the patio while listening to live music! The restaurant is dog friendly as many cool neighborhood spots in Boulder are, so you can bring fido to romp around with his buds while you hang with yours. Its actually nice that the bar is not in the midst of the Pearl Street mall and has to be seeked out by the most unique of the unique in Boulder. I definitely recommend stopping in for a beer and some good conversation and I'm pretty sure they have tours of the brewery too!

Good Beer - Nasty Service

Posted by ambrosgela on 11/12/2006

The beer here is decent, the usual fare you might expect in a local brewery. Just beware the seating arrangements on a busy night - we came in on a Friday for happy hour and moved to a larger booth while waiting for more friends to arrive. The wait staff hovered non-stop, asking if we were expecting more people and who had "allowed" us to take that booth. Certainly not a welcoming atmosphere. Average food, nice selection on the menu.

Good beer, good food

We had some wonderful appetizers, the pretzels are excellent! Also, the beer and cheese sampler is a great way to try a few of the beers they brew. Due to the crowd we sat outside, but the inside was very inviting with great atmosphere. The service was wonderful, big help with selecting the beers we would enjoy. The waiter was right on. The Old Elk Brown Ale was our favorite, very smooth.
